Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Archie is a software product operated by Northstar ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with the Archie website and application. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
Account information: name, work email address, role and company, provided when an account is created for you or when you request a demo.
Project content: documents and data your organisation uploads to the application, such as specifications, drawings, schedules and contracts, together with the deliverables generated from them.
Usage information: log data generated by using the service, such as authentication events, actions on deliverables and technical diagnostics.
Advertising measurement: if you reach this website from one of our ads, the click identifier Google attaches to the link and the cookies set by the Google tag, described in section 8.
3. How we use it
We use account information to operate your account, respond to enquiries and arrange demonstrations. We use project content solely to provide the service to your organisation: extracting data, computing results and producing deliverables. We use usage information to secure, maintain and improve the service.
We do not use your project content to train machine learning models, and we do not permit third parties to do so.
We do not sell personal information.
4. Storage and security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure. Access to the application is authenticated, and actions on deliverables are role-restricted and logged. Signed deliverables are hashed and locked against modification.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
5. Disclosure
We disclose personal information only to service providers who host and support the operation of the service under contractual confidentiality obligations, or where required by law. Where infrastructure is located outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protections apply.
6. Retention
We retain account information while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Project content is retained according to the agreement with your organisation. Signed deliverables form part of a project record and are retained for the period agreed with your organisation.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
8. Cookies and advertising measurement
The application uses browser storage strictly to keep you signed in. No advertising or analytics tag runs on the signed-in application.
The public website runs the Google tag, provided by Google, so that we can measure which of our ads lead to a demo. It sets cookies in your browser and reports back to Google when a demo is requested or booked. If you arrive from one of our ads, the click identifier on the link is also stored in your browser so that a later demo request can be matched to that ad.
We use this only to measure our own advertising. We do not sell it, we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and no project content is ever sent to Google. Google's handling of the data it receives is governed by its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can block these cookies through your browser settings or an ad blocker, and the website works normally without them.
9. Contact and changes
Questions about this policy can be sent through the demo request form on this site. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be published on this page.
